Nazar and Irina started to dance at the age of five in Siberia, Russia. They started competing at the age of six at the various Dancesport Championships in Krasnoyarsk region, throughout Russia and internationally, winning numerous prestigious titles. After relocating to Florida in 2007 they turned professionals and continued their competitive career. They currently are 2010 United States National Rising Star Professional International Latin Bronze Medalists, 2010 North American Dancesport Rising Stars Champions, 2010 Grand National Champions, 2010 The Ohio Star Ball Rising Star Champions, 2011 Wisconsin State Dancesport Champions, 2011 Southern States Dancesport Champions and winners and Grand finalists of many more prestigious events around the country from Los Angeles to Miami. Nazar and Irina are the coaches for many great dancers in Russia and the United States. Among their students there were National and World Pro-Am Champions, Finalists of the British Open Championships and Italian Open Championships, members of the United States Team, Winners of the WDSF OPEN.Nazar is the proud member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing - the most prestigious and respected dance organization in the World that was established in 1904 in London. 1/11/12 Happy New Year! We were quite busy during the holidays - Were teaching series of workshops and performing a Show at the New Year Extravaganza in Norfolk, Va. Great event, great people, so much enthusiasm - we loved it! Right from there went to New York and had a lot of coaching. Feeling inspired at the moment, practicing like crazy. Looking forward to a new season, there will be a few exciting changes for us, will write about them later. First stop - Florida Superstars at Saint Petersburg, Fl in the end of February !12/19/2011Last week was absolutely amazing! "Holiday Dance Classic" in Las Vegas! It doesn't get any better than that. Couples from Hong Kong, Netherlands, Russia, Singapore, New Zealand and an enormous amount of dancers from all around the country. Gloria Baker, Carla Bottalla and Cynthia Kavey were competing and did an amazing job! Carla on her very first big comp won a lot of dances and made a final in the smooth scholarship out of more than 30 ladies competing. Gloria was stunning at her "Singing in the rain" show routine and winning pretty much every single one of her dances. And Cindy Kavey made a final at her very first Silver American Smooth Scholarship and finished second at the Latin scholarship and "Best of the Best" 10 dance Bronze. COuld not ask for better results for the ladies. Now getting ready for the New Years Eve Extravaganza that is being held at Norfolk, Va from December 29 to January 2nd. Doing the Show there and teaching about 25 workshops with Irina. This event has more than 20 years in history and we are proud that this year we will be featured performers therer!12/6/2011Just won the Southeastern States DanceSport Championships in Orlando!!! Happy!Also, we were featured in the book of Julia Ericksen "Dance with Me . Ballroom Dancing and the Promise of Instant Intimacy" . You can buy it at the Amazon.com. It is a great book and will be very interesting for any ballroom dance enthusiast!11/7/2011 Had a break in keeping the blog alive, sorry about that...October was full of practicing, got brand new "Paso from hell":) and performed it twice already. First time was at the fabulous Grand National Championships in Key Biscayne, Fl, which we won for the second time in a row! The very next day we flew out to Indianapolis for the North American DanceSport Championships. Were a little bit out of luck by getting second place. It just was very, very close...Yesterday got back from ORlandoo, where Ballroom Blitz was held. Great, fun comp and all of our students did awesome! Cindy Kavey won second place in LAtin Championship and third in Standard. Vera Lepera was 3rd in Smooth and Rhythm, Sierra Vermilion was second in Smooth and won the Rhythm , Tatiana Dacruz in her very first Standard Championships won a gold medal and Maya Roux won second place in LAtin Championships. Well done! Irina also had quite a group of girls - Andi, Jasmine, Alexis and Avorie - all looked great and shined on the floor! Now we are getting ready for OHIO... That's gonna be a big one. Right after that couple of days of rest on a Thanksgiving Weekend with dear friends in Miami Beach and Marco Island and after that - SouthEastern States Dancesport Championships in Orlando and Holiday Dance Classic in VEGAS!!! Cindy Kavey, Gloria Baker and Carla Bottalla are working very hard in preparation for this comp, and I am sure they will do great . We really looking forward to that!Also, and that's just in - we will be doing series of performances and workshops (over 20) during a New Years week - December 29-January 2nd in Norfolk, Va at USA DANCE Tidewater Chapter Annual event. And so, we are officially having a 10 -day break from practicing, since Irina went back to Russia for the first time in 4 and a half years...The first free weekend since July:-) Last week was awesome - did the workshop, adjudicated and performed the show at the Tampa Bay Classic. Had the best time, as well as (hopefully) the students and their teachers at this wonderful event. Now, I am out to teach in Ecuador again this week and right away upon arriving back, we will start practicing and creating the new Paso...Planning to compete at the Grand National Championships in Key Biscayne, Fl and at the North American Dancesport Championships in Indianapolis at the end of October. Enjoy and don't forget to leave your comments at our Guestbook! We love them!9/13/2011 Well, USDC is over, thank God for that:-) The most stressful week of the year... It wasn't our best Nationals ever, but then again, our best US Nationals is ahead of us:-) We did make a final at US Nationals Rising Star Championships and got 5th place. This was,definitely, the best Rising Star group that we competed with, in last three years. We felt good about our dancing, so as our coaches, so, overall, it was an "ok" week... In the next couple of weeks we will post some videos from the USDC, as well as some new photos.Just got back Sunday, and on Monday, immediately started working with Rufus Dustin on our brand new 5- dance show... We definitely never did anything quite like this... It will be hillarious, intense, sexy, sad, passionate and you just have to see this...The premiere will be at the Tampa Bay Classic on September 25th... Also, we will be doing the latin workshop on Saturday, September 24th there as well... If you want to know more , please, go to www.dancechampionsinc.com ! 9/2/2011 Wow, what a couple weeks there were! Just got back from Quito, Ecuador - had the best time there! Teaching, sightseeing, shopping. Absolutely loved it! Congratulations to our students - Evgeny Terytsa and Maria Fernanda Briones for winning WDSF OPEN "MITAD DEL MUNDO" in International Standard and also to Evgeny Terytsa (yes, this boy is dancing with both girls:-)) and Esteffy Aguirre for winning 3rd place at the same event in International Latin. Also, congrats to Luis Munoz and Camila Acosta for winning 4th place in Latin at that event. we are very proud of you, guys and hope to see you again soon! After coming back Irina got sick with the stomach flu (just nasty thing) and we had to cancel another event - Capital Dancesport in Alexandria, Va. Were upset about that, but it's health and it's better not to mess with that;-) Now we are getting ready for the US Nationals next week in Orlando. Will keep you,guys,posted, so come check our website again next week!8/14/2011 Middle of the summer here, but we are very busy teaching - LOVE IT!Was a bit slower time as far as competitions - Irina twisted her ankle, so we did not participate in Florida State Dance Sport Championships as planned, but managed to receive the Triple Crown Award for the year 2011 - Triple Crown competitions include "Southern States DS Championships" in Orlando, "Southeastern States DS Championships" in New Orleans, "Crown Jewel of DanceSport" in Ft. Lauderdale and "Florida State DS Championships" in Sarasota, where the award ceremony is held. The award in each style and category is being given to those, accumulated the most points throughout the year. We are very happy! Now getting ready to go next week to Quito, Ecuador to teach kids and young adults there! Very excited about that! Then off to Capital Dancesport Championships in Alexandria, Va. 7/18/2011 We came back from Virginia State Dancesport Championships in Reston, Va. It was a great weekend! We had a lot of fun dancing basic routines with Irina at the Pro Basic Championships. Cindy Kavey did awesome job by winning whole bunch of single dances, taking second place in Standard Open Bronze Championships and, in the end of the day, taking 1st at the Open Bronze Championships!!! Very proud of you! The weekend ended with me and Irina getting into the Professional Open International Latin Championships Final and winning the 5th place,which we were very happy about! And, of course, the afterparty was awesome:-)))Now getting ready to do a little show for our friends from USADance at Dancelife on Friday, July 22nd. Group class starts at 7pm and the party which includes the show starts at 8.Come join us , that will be fun!!!!Also, there are new videos from the last competition, so go to the videos page and check it out!!!7/10/2011 Was a very busy month of June - were changing all of our schedules, figuring things out, and practice, practice, practice. Attended Millenium Dancesport and Manhattan Dancesport, not too happy with the results, but it's all right, gotta work even harder. Just got back from the whole week of teaching in Quito, Ecuador. What a great country and awesome people! Looking forward coming back there in August to teach a dance camp with Irina. Meanwhile, getting ready to leave for Virginia Dancesport Championships on July 14 with Irina and Cindy Kavey. Doing Pro Open and Pro/Am as well as Pro Basics Championships - that will be a fun weekend! Then group class and show at Dancelife on July 22. Will be more updates next week, so come back!!! 5/30/2011 It is official now. We are no longer part of the "Modern Steps Ballroom Studio". There were great 4 years for us, but it is time to make our own path. We would like to thank Jim and Tammy and all the staff for the wonderful and eventful 4 years and would like to wish the studio only the best in all of their future endeavors.Starting June 1st 2011 we are becoming independent instructors and will be teaching in various studios in SW Florida. Dancelife of SWFL (26251 S Tamiami Trail Bonita Springs, FL 34134-7830 US) will become our base with the most of our lessons being taught there, but we will be also available for lessons on Marco Island at Island Dance Academy (2nd Marco Lake Dr. Marco Island, Fl, 34145), Naples (please, contact us for location) as well as Coconut Creek (Ft. Lauderdale area) at Goldcoast Ballroom (1415 Lyons Road, Coconut Creek, FL 33063)5/30/2011 Wow!!! Nazar won the "Top Teacher" at "Swing into Summer 2011". Wouldn't ever happen without support from my awesome students, who's performances were absolutely fantastic. For most of them that was their very first competition and they did just awesome! You've got some guts, guys! Thank you, Gloria Baker, Carla Bottalla, Lynn and Brenda Griebahn, Diane Luberto, Mindy Myers, MariaElena Pujol, Pam Schmidt and Nancy Wyckoff!!!
